Well, ain't that a fancy word for books I like to read.
Robert A. Heinlein was the first author to make me go out and buy a book with my own money. I read his book, Rolling Stones, and soon had all of his famous science fiction juvenelle series. This series is excellent, and never seems to lose it's magic. The only juvenelle part is the lack of sex, reduced violence, and cultural references - adults enjoy them too.
Other Science Fiction authors I have known and like are: Arthur C. Clarke, Phillip K. Dick, Jose Farmer, Roger Zelazney, Issac Asimov, Edward White, and Barrington J. Bailey.
In the last couple of years, good science fiction has gotten hard to find. It's not that there aren't good authors out there, it just that after Star Wars, Star Trek, science fiction enjoyed a renewed interest. As literature, Science Fiction is still in the ghetto however. The current glut of bad to marginal authors makes finding a good read harder and harder. The solution to this came at the suggestion of my sister-in-law: Mysteries.
I always liked mysteries, but most I watched them in movies and on TV. I particulary love the Arts & Entertainment channel and the Public Broadcasting Company for bringing many of the classic mysteries to the small screen in wonderful form. The authors I read are Dorthey L. Sayers (Peter Wimsey), Nagaio Marsh, and [insert Cadfeal author here].
