Ars magica has never been a game to detail prices. It was the original game of storytelling. However, some of the terms used to price items are a little off. The accumulation of 'standard' cost equipment ends up having a rather over protected custos. The discrepancy between the price of arms and armor in history is also not shown. It was always hard to armor troops and not nearly so hard to arm them.
Example: A fully equiped Knight in chainmail, with the usual weapons and warhorse costs 13L.
All prices are in pence or denarius (d.) 240d = 1L, or one pound.

Ars Magica uses some terms incorrectly when it comes to armor. What Ars Magica calls a Hauberk is more correctly termed a byrnie. This is rather like a tunic for coverage. What Ars Magica calls a half suit is called a hauberk. A full suit is obvious. A cuirass covers less then a byrnie and is rather like a T-shirt in coverage.
